On The Box

Panorama - Mrs. Watts
It seems as though whenever you open a paper, there’s Mrs. Watts !

The Times, Daily Mail, Lancashire Evening Post and Chorley Guardian. But the really good news is that she’ll be on the box in October, coinciding with the end of the Parliamentary Summer Recess. We knew that the BBC tentatively had scheduled a programme late last year that had been cancelled. But today, we learnt that, through her determined efforts to prove her innocence, her case will be investigated by the Panorama team. The programme will highlight aspects of the recent Parliamentary report Allegations Against Teachers, to which, Mrs. Watts has contributed and is mentioned.

Again, well done !!!

Well done? Will Panorama interview the child and her parents? Will it interview members of staff the school and its Governors. I don't think so, it will just be Mrs Watts and her version of events!
Nobody is taking into account the impact on the child and her family, she was after all as it says in the paper found guilty.

How to Cheat a Polygraph Test (Lie Detector)

There are a variety of instances in which you may be subjected to a polygraph, or lie detector examination. These tests can be a source of tremendous anxiety, especially since it is all too common for innocent people to fail them for no reason, resulting in the denial of employment or false criminal accusations. Why? Because polygraphs are far from perfect. In fact, many experts consider them a farce, and almost all scientists who have studied them (and even some polygraph administrators) understand that polygraphs are seriously limited. Fortunately, for this very reason they are easy to trick. So whether you don’t want your potential employer to know about your youthful mistakes or you want to make sure you don’t fail a polygraph just because you’re nervous, follow these steps to take control of your interrogation.

We have spoken with Mrs. Watts. She said that she is not surprised by the comments. With regards to the scepticism of polygraph examinations, she points out that it is used by government and it is an integral part of the Offender Management Act 2007. It is not admissible as evidence in a criminal court but is in a civil court.

She suggests that the cynics from school join her in another polygraph examination and they can see if they can use their “WikiHow” knowledge to their advantage !

Mr Kidd had his say in the paper

Andrew Kidd, head teacher at Duke Street Primary School, confirmed that a member of his staff was dismissed for misconduct, reinstated — and then dismissed again for “non-attendance”. But he said “the original finding of misconduct was correct”.

I'm sure that he'll get his say on TV too.

Yes, the two by anonymous, are definately Mr.Kidd. I don't watch Panorama but I bet they'll talk to everybody involved. I,m sorry to hear about Mrs.Watts too, i always liked her. She was a good teacher and I don't believe that she did what Mr.Kidd said she did.

I disagree with the school's first comment. I think that everyone can have their say in such investigations, Mr.Kidd did:

Andrew Kidd, headteacher at Duke Street Primary School, said: "There was a disciplinary hearing at school in March 2008 at which a member of staff was dismissed for assaulting a child, which was witnessed by another member of staff."

"A subsequent appeal hearing decided that while the original finding of misconduct was correct, the decision to dismiss should be reduced to final written warning and at that point the member of staff was invited to return to work in July 2008."

"However the staff member did not return to work and was dismissed by the governors in May 2009 on grounds of non-attendance."

Poor soul! I bet she was too traumatised and ill to go back. 'Invite' is a curious word to use. Perhaps Mr.Kidd could explain what he did to invite her back ?

We are holding on your comment. What you said is new evidence and was not contained in any of the reports by the school.

We have no objections to releasing your comment but we would like to explore what you have said as it is extremely important.
